Quick Answers To Questions You May Have

What is Employment At Will? Can I Be Fired Without Cause?
"Employment at will" means an employer can terminate an employee at any time for any reason — except an illegal one — and an employee can leave at any time. This doctrine applies unless there is an employment contract or a law that says otherwise. Even in Florida, firing for discriminatory or retaliatory reasons is illegal. Talk to us if you suspect your termination was unlawful.
What Steps Should I Take if I Believe My Employer is Violating Labor Laws?
Document everything — dates, times, emails, memos. Report internally to HR. If that fails, file a complaint with the DOL (wage issues) or OSHA (safety concerns). Then seek legal advice — an employment lawyer can advise on your rights and represent you in negotiations or in court.
How Much Does an Employment Lawyer Cost?
Obeidy & Associates, P.A. is paid a percentage of your settlement if we win on your behalf. We provide a free consultation to discuss your situation and outline a personalized legal strategy before any financial commitment.
What Are My Rights Under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)?
Eligible employees may take up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per 12-month period for serious health, family, or pregnancy-related reasons — and up to 26 weeks to care for a covered service member. Employers must maintain your health insurance during leave, and you are protected from retaliation for exercising FMLA rights.
